Turkish Airlines raddoppierà entro il 2033

Turkish Airlines ha pubblicato le linee guida del business plan per i prossimi 10 anni.
Previsti il raddoppio di flotta e pax, con tutte le conseguenze del caso sui vari numeri.
Il 2033 TK festeggerà un secolo di vita, ed è presumibile che se i piani andranno come previsto, tra 10 anni saremo di fronte ad una mega-compagnia con più di 800 aerei che opererà in quello che probabilmente diventerà il più grande hub del mondo: l'aeroporto di Istanbul. Che a sua volta sarà completato come da masterplan, con 2 terminal e 6 piste.
A questo punto aspettiamo anche i mega-ordini per le centinaia di aerei necessari per implementare il progetto.

Growing significantly higher than the industry average over the last 20 years while having significant contributions to Türkiye's economy and labor market, Turkish Airlines is pleased to announce its strategic targets pertaining to the 100th year of its establishment.

Determined in line with our vision for 2033, the strategic focus areas that aim to generate significant value for our stakeholders are as follows:

• Achieving consolidated revenue of over 50 billion USD by 2033,

• Attaining an EBITDAR margn between 20% and 25% during 2023-2033,

• Contributing 140 billion USD of added value to Türkiye's economy by 2033,

• Expanding our fleet to 435 aircraft by 2023 and to over 800 aircraft by 2033; growing our passenger network to 400 destinations,

• Doubling the passenger capacity in 2023 by 2033 with an annual average growth rate of 7%,

• Servicing 170 million passengers by 2033 compared to over 85 million in 2023,

• Reaching 150 thousand employees including our subsidiaries,

• Doubling the transported cargo volume and positioning Turkish Cargo among the top three cargo carriers globally by 2033; leveraging the capabilities of our cargo hub, SmartIST, which is one of the largest air cargo terminals in the world,

• Establishing our low-cost arm AnadoluJet as a separate subsidiary; repositioning its brand, restructuring its revenue and cost structures, and reaching a fleet size of 200 new generation aircraft to strengthen its competitive positioning,

• Improving customer experience and brand recognition by:

– Providing each passenger a customized service across all service channels

– Completing cabin transformation to enhance in-flight experience

– Growing further Miles & Smiles loyalty program and increasing the number of active members

• To become a sustainable airline by:

– Increasing the number of new generation aircraft in the fleet

– Increasing the consumption of sustainable aviation fuel

– Expanding the number of LEED certified buildings to boost renewable energy usage

E' interessante che abbiano una visione strategica a cosi lungo periodo ma proprio perchè l'orizzonte temporale è cosi lungo è difficile fare previsioni, nell' arco di 10 anni può succedere di tutto, guardate solo cosa è successo negli ultimi anni con Covid e guerra e quali effetti hanno avuto questi eventi imprevedibili sul settore dell' aviazione. Per questo secondo me sono talmente tante le variabili che possono cambiare che una previsione di cosi lungo periodo è molto aleatoria.

Gli obbiettivi di TK sono molto ambiziosi, mi chiedo pero' in che senso voglia espandersi ancora dato che vola praticamente ovunque, eccetto Australia e Nuova Zelanda dove intende entro breve attivare collegamenti. L'aeroporto Halalimani è veramente impressionante in termini di dimensioni ed è anche molto bello esteticamente, le piste sembrano infinite, ci sono praticamente voli giornalieri per ogni aerea geografica del globo.

Per implementare il piano industriale, TK a Giugno dovrebbe ordinare 600 (seicento) aerei, inclusi 200 (duecento) WB.

Turkish Airlines is reportedly hoping to announce an aircraft order covering around 600 aircraft next month, which will support it’s recently disclosed ambition to double the size of its fleet to more than 800 over the next decade.

The airline’s chief financial officer Murat Seker had in early March indicated Turkish would be placing a major aircraft order once it had finalised its long-term strategic plan. That plan, under which Turkish Airlines aims to effectively double the size of the carrier to fly 170 million passengers and operate over 800 aircraft by 2033, was formally disclosed last month.

Turkish Airlines chairman Ahmet Bolat is today quoted in local media as saying the airline is continuing talks with aircraft manufacturers over a 600-strong commitment – including 200 widebodies – and hopes to announce an order in June. Bolat hints the Star Alliance carrier, which operates a mix of Airbus and Boeing types, could finalise an order with one manufacturer in time for the IATA AGM, which is being held in Istanbul in early June. The remaining order could then be finalised at the Paris air show later in June.

The airline ended 2022 with 394 aircraft. It expects the fleet to reach 435 by the end of this year. Under its strategic plan, Turkish expects its fleet to reach 500 units in 2025, growing to 600 by 2028, hitting the 700 mark in 2031 and pass the 800 threshold in 2033.

Turkish Airlines, together with low-cost unit Anadolu Jet, operates a mix of Airbus and Boeing narrowbodies – both current and re-engined types – as well as a range of widebodies including Airbus A330s, A350s, Boeing 777s and 787s.

Da dicembre 2023 TK entrerà anche nel mercato australiano: partiranno i collegamenti Istanbul-Melbourne via Singapore, inizialmente previsti 3xw.
E' da tempo che la compagnia aveva manifestato l'intenzione di volare in Australia.
