Twin Jet launches flights to a first destination in Italy from its Strasbourg base



Twin Jet’s deployment in Eastern France continues on the Strasbourg base. Twin Jet, the first European airline with aircraft of fewer than 30 seats, announces the launch of a new direct route from Strasbourg to Milan. From April 09, 2019, the Italian capital of fashion, Milan, will now be accessible from Strasbourg at the rate of 3 weekly frequencies (Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays).
Vincent Courtois, Sales Manager of the regular routes, declares: “We are confident about the complete success of this route that meets the needs of our customers. We have been present in Milan for more than 10 years, and in Eastern France for 17 years. This link was needed because it was neglected by all companies!”
Olivier Manaut, Chairman of the Group, said: “We are delighted by this opening to international markets from Strasbourg. The opening of this new route to Milan was eagerly awaited as much by the tourist actors as by the political or economic actors. It will allow the people of Strasbourg to reach the capital of Lombardy in one hour! Twin Jet is once again positioning itself as the partner of the Greater East region. The launch of this Strasbourg / Milan route is in addition to the new Strasbourg / Lille route which will be operated from 27 February 2019.”
Reservations are available to all travel agencies and on the company’s website. www.twinjet.fr. Twin Jet is a FlyingBlue partner, the loyalty programme of the Air France – KLM group. Passengers will be able to earn miles on their loyalty card.
Twin Jet has a fleet of 12 Beechcraft 1900D turboprop aircraft.

Notizia interessante; non tanto per la rotta in sè, fra l'altro nemmeno giornaliera, ma per possibili ipotetiche implicazioni. Mi domando se non sarebbe possibile un accordo con Airitaly ( c/s o interline) per operare le tratte VCE/MXP e FLR/MXP, ma su base giornaliera. Solo che TWINJET è forse impegnata indirettamente con il gruppo AF/KLM in materia di fidelity. Comunque se non direttamente IG, almeno SEA dovrebbe, a mio avviso, tentare un accordo del genere, eventualmente dando degli incentivi almeno in una fase iniziale.

Naah, figurati, è in orbita AF/KL, Malpensa non è base e hanno aerei neanche regional, direi city . Venezia già con un 737 si potrebbe aprire sulla carta, per quanto riguarda Firenze o ci pensa Vueling (...) o Air Italy deve aspettare che facciano, se si farà, la nuova pista.

Pochetto...forse è una rotta che potrebbe avere anche un Atr...ma almeno 5xw...anche un parlamentare su quegli aerei... inoltre l'area di sTrasburgo e vicina Germania ha molte potenzialità affari. Ed anche di turisti che potrebbero venire a Milano...in quel caso, per via indiretta le coincidenze potrebbero divenire attrattive...ma servono altre frequenze.

forse uno scalo a Malpensa con prosecuzione a Firenze potrebbe favorire un aumento delle frequenze sia per la maggiore componente turistica, sia per la raccolta di pax da provenienze e destinazioni intercontinentali a MXP. La dipendenza commerciale con AF/KLM ? Superabile con un adeguato intervento del sistema "via Milano" operato purtroppo finora assai stancamente da SEA.
