ITA Airways confirms return to Venezuela with Rome–Caracas flights
The Italian carrier will operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays with Airbus A330-900 aircraft. The launch, initially planned for late 2026, was postponed due to the damage caused by the June earthquakes at Maiquetía Airport.

Rome and Caracas will be connected by a nonstop flight again starting March 30, 2027. ITA Airways will operate the route between Rome Fiumicino Airport and Maiquetía Simón Bolívar International Airport three times a week, on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays, with Airbus A330-900 aircraft.
The new route was formalized this Tuesday with the signing of a memorandum of understanding between Joerg Eberhart, CEO and general manager of ITA Airways, and María Elena Uzzo Giannattasio, Venezuela's ambassador to Italy. According to the company, the agreement was the result of a process carried out alongside the authorities of both countries and the diplomatic network.
